Indian Offers Factory Delivery Program

Indian Motorcycle is offering a Factory Delivery Program allowing customers to order a motorcycle through an authorized dealership and pick it up at the factory in Kings Mountain, N.C., 37 miles west of Charlotte.

All 2009 Indian Chiefs are eligible for the new delivery program. Factory Delivery offers a personal VIP tour of the factory and bike delivery in the customer delivery area of the plant. The VIP tour is given by a member of the Indian Motorcycle staff who guides participants through each step of the bike building process, beginning in engine assembly and ending on the vehicle build line.

Factory Delivery customers must contact their local Indian Motorcycle dealership to participate in the program. If there is no dealership in their area, they can contact the flagship store in Charlotte.

The retailer has four 2009 models to sell: the Chief Vintage, $35,499; Chief Roadmaster, $33,999; Chief Deluxe, $31,999; and Chief Standard, $30,999. All are powered by the Indian engineered and developed, electronically fuel-injected 105 ci PowerPlus V-twin.

Indian says it plans to have 50 dealerships in place within the next three years.

There are currently 12 dealerships: Indian Motorcycle Omaha; Indian Motorcycle of Pittsburgh; Dick Scott’s Indian Motorcycle Detroit; Mike Smith’s Indian Motorcycle of Paducah, in Kentucky; Chester’s Indian Motorcycle of Phoenix; Indian Motorcycle Wichita; Indian Motorcycle of the Twin Cities; Indian Motorcycle of Dallas/Ft. worth; Indian Motorcycle of St. Pete; Indian Motorcycle of Atlanta; Indian Motorcycle of Scranton; and the flagship Indian Motorcycle Charlotte.
