Why I ride
I had to get out of work today. I love my job, but some times I just need to get out of the office. Today I felt like I was trapped in a box. I'm glad I don't have the same restrictions most people have in a work environment. I take a 30 minute break I just needed to get out. I hop on my bike and take a short ride to a park near the office. As soon as I turn the key I hear my V- twin rumble to life. The smell of burning gas and the sound of the pipes gets my heart pumping. I lift the kick stand and slowly roll on the throttle and smile finds its way to my face. As I roll out of the parking lot I see people looking at me with longing, wishing they could be on a bike riding in the wind. They are doing construction down the road and a bit of sand hits my face but I don't care I'm riding. I take in the smells of the surrounding area in. The wind is whipping my hair around giving me the sense of flying down the road. There is no better sense of freedom like man and machine working as one. As I go down side streets all my stress and cares wash away I only have one thing on my mind and thats the ride. I pass the park I was supposed to take a breather at and keep on going. I know I must be nearing the halfway point of my break and start to make my way back. The ride back is no less exhilarating. I clock back in 15 minutes late as soon as I tell the boss why I'm late he understands. He tells me to try not to be late next time. About five minutes later I see him walk by with the keys to his bike in hand and I smile. I know I'm not the only one who will return back from break late today, and that's why I ride there is no freedom I know of that's better than riding.

I ride motocross because it is what I love. It has taught me patience, focus, and most of all, keeps me striving to stay fit and healthy. It has also helped me to have hard work ethics, because everyone who tries to go Pro, knows it takes a lot of hard work. You can't be a slacker, even if you have a ton of natural talent. Especially these days.
When I ride, my mind focuses on one main thing. Riding the course. Whether it is desert or motocross, it is the same. It is the one thing, besides my family, that has stayed with me through my entire life.
Also, I love to show off. Motocross is a good sport to show off in.

I learned to ride because I love motorcycles. I ride now because I can. After shattering my pelvis in an accident, I know how lucky I am to be able to swing my leg over any bike. I also ride be cause it's my job, and I couldn't be luckier to be doing what I do! I ride to test ride, anywhere from minor issue diagnosis to post motor work. When I am on that test ride and I know the customer is going to be happy... that makes me happy, and it makes me glad that I can ride and share that experience with the owner.
I also love to ride big bikes, cause it blows people away when a woman can ride anything bigger than a Dyna! Especially when it's a high horsepower custom.

its the only thing i was really excited to do after high school. (a little history) ive never touched a bike till i went to MMI. but it was love at first sight. i was going to go to GCC, and that made me feel misarable. but just thinking of work, touching, riding any bike gets me fired up. after my first 6weeks in theory i went out for my first ride. i cant even start to compare it to an orgazem. i was a junkie, hooked from that first little taste. riding makes me feel super sexy, no matter how dirty i am. the dirtier the better i feel. its a huge confidents boost. no drug comes close to the rush you feel. (not to mention...telling guys i ride and went to MMI is a hugh pantie dropper ;p) **LUV YA!! Melissa**

No matter what happens at work, home, anything, as soon as i just take the cover off i get a huge lift up, its like my break away from everything. No girlfriend, No family, No work, and best of all i can't answer my work phone while i'm on my bike. Theres nothing better then meetin up with 10 or 80 bikers, most of which you just met, and goin on a all day ride. Theres no group of people like bikers...to meet someone and instantly know what kind of person they are and talk for hours because you share that one common thing, its nothing short of totally amazing.
If you don't get that feeling everytime you saddle up, sell your bike and buy a prius!!

As a friend once said "My bike is $15,000 worth of therapy". Bikes, whatever kind you ride put you in a zone that only riders know. There's a since of freedom, solitare, and rebelious element. You don't have to be a bad-ass, but it may make you feel that way. You drive a car and you try to be alert to your surroundings, but on a bike you are aware. Your senses become more alive. You notice the imperfections in the road, the bright sun or the stormy sky, the dense traffic or the open road. The importance of where your vehicle is located as you take a turn or pass another car, bike or person. Riding makes you realize how crucial one mistake can be.
Riding makes me a better person, but I ride to get away from things and get to know other things.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.
